On March 15, 2024, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) announced an agreement that would end litigation of claims brought on behalf of home sellers related to broker commissions. In settling these lawsuits, NAR has agreed to exclude information relating to offers of broker compensation within multiple listing services (MLSs). The settlement also will require MLS participants working with buyers to have written representation agreements, a practice that NAR has long recommended. According to NAR, this would resolve claims filed across the nation if approved by the court. Texas REALTORS® will share information as it becomes available.
